I wasn't sure what to expect prior to receiving this cookbook in terms of recipes but ended up pleasantly surprised. The menu consists of foods kids eat with a bit of sophistication to each dish. The categories for the recipes are organized under different Sponge Bob characters and skill level, not so much by dish. The recipes are practical, hands on and fun for my 8 year old son as well as myself. They range from pretzel letters to bubble tea to marine-ara sauce covering vegetarian, meat lover, breakfast, dessert and snack categories. The beginning of the book consists of an introduction, explains the basics of preparation, how to read a recipe, information on what to look for while cooking as well as clean up. It also gives direction on measurements, definition of basic terms, kitchen and food safety. Well rounded guidance over all. Great book for a mini chef.

I am very pleased with this book. My grandson and I have not yet cooked a recipe from it. He can't stop looking at it and having me read it to him. He and I both are anxious to cook something soon.
